Ingredients
- 2 cups whole or halved walnuts
- ½ cup sugar
- 1½ teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- Crushed peppermint bits, optional
Directions
- Add walnuts to a medium skillet with Teflon™ nonstick coating.
- Add sugar, cinnamon, salt, stirring constantly with a soft spatula until molten, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in maple syrup; coat nuts well.
- Transfer nuts to a work surface.
- Using a fork, separate nuts to avoid clumping.
- Sprinkle peppermint bits overtop.
- Serve or store in fridge 2-3 weeks.
